CHICAGO, April 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc. ("Hill-Rom") (NYSE: HRC) today announced financial results for its fiscal second quarter ended March 31, 2017, and raised its outlook for fiscal 2017. The company's results and updated guidance reflect the contribution from the Mortara Instrument Inc. ("Mortara") acquisition, which was completed on February 14, 2017. For the fiscal second quarter, Hill-Rom reported earnings of $0.51 per diluted share compared to $0.33 per diluted share in the prior-year period. On an adjusted basis, earnings of $0.88 per diluted share rose 24 percent from $0.71 per diluted share in the prior-year period and exceeded the company's previously-issued guidance of $0.77 to $0.79 per diluted share. This performance reflects strong revenue growth, disciplined cost management, continued margin expansion, and a tax benefit of approximately $0.06 per diluted share related to stock-based compensation.
