Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average retreated 220 points, or 0.7%, after the index ended 253 points lower on Thursday to close at 30,775. S&P 500 futures signaled a start 0.7% into the red with the tech stock-heavy Nasdaq poised to fall 0.7%. Overseas, the pan-European Stoxx 600 shed 0.3% and Tokyo's Nikkei 225 lost 1.7%.
