Hertz stock jumps after company posts narrower adj. quarterly loss Shares of Hertz Global Holdings Inc. HTZ, +2.77% rose more than 13% in the extended session Monday after the car-rental company reported a narrower-than-expected loss for the fourth quarter, and its revenue came in slightly ahead of expectations. Hertz said it lost $101 million, or $1.20 a share, in the quarter, versus earnings of $616 million, or $7.42 a share, in the year-ago period, which included a one-time benefit of $679 million, or $8.18 a share. Adjusted for one-time items, the company lost $46 million, or 55 cents a share, compared with a loss of $64 million, or 77 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 10% to $2.3 billion in the quarter. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected an adjusted loss of 90 cents a share on sales of $2.2 billion.
