LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Humana Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Humana Inc. for the past 44 years, today announced the publication of its new report, “Strengthening Belonging for Underserved Boys.” The report explores how loneliness has become a pressing public health issue among boys, particularly those from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds, rural communities, LGBTQ+ identities, and boys with differing physical and mental abilities. According to a Gallup poll, 25% of American males aged 15–34 reported feeling lonely “a lot” the previous day.Drawing on national data, the report reveals that boys are less likely to be diagnosed with depression, yet more likely to die by suicide.
