They said the maker of structural materials faces greater uncertainty with its sudden change in leadership. Hexcel ( HXL ) on Tuesday said Tom Gentile, former chief executive of fuselage supplier Spirit AeroSystems ( NYSE: SPR ), will be its next president and CEO starting May 1. “We note the surprising nature of this announcement as the company did not communicate to the market that it had been pursuing new leadership,” Ronald Epstein, analyst at BofA, said in an April 10 report. “As such, we think it could be poorly received by the market.” Hexcel's ( HXL ) stock fell 10% in extended trading Tuesday. “Given the surprise shakeup, we think it is unlikely that Hexcel ( HXL ) will be awarded its historical premium until the new management team has fully transitioned and proven itself,” according to BofA.
