1.3% in after-hours trading on Tuesday as investors appeared to focus on other aspects of the results. The automated global electronic broker posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.65, beating the analyst estimate of $0.59, while revenue reached $1.64 billion compared to the consensus estimate of $1.61 billion. Despite the beat on both metrics, the market reaction was decidedly negative. Revenue increased 18% compared to the $1.39 billion reported in the same quarter last year. Commission revenue surged 22% to $582 million, driven by higher customer trading volumes, with options, futures, and stocks trading increasing 27%, 22%, and 16% respectively. Net interest income rose 20% to $966 million due to higher customer margin loans and credit balances. Total customer equity reached $779.9 billion at year-end, marking a 37% increase from the previous year.
