Michael Dutra and Ameen Neami think that most financial planning software is already most of the way to outdated. That might not be a totally unexpected opinion from the co-founders of an AI planning startup, but in highlighting what they think could be moving into obsolescence, Dutra and Neami argue that the way client information is gathered is about to change fundamentally. Dutra and Neami are the CEO and CTO respectively of FriedmannAI, a platform that they claim to be Canada's first “AI-native” financial planning software platform. The company, which was recently backed by IBM, is designed to use AI to simplify the information input process, creating a more customizable plan for clients based on one area that generative AI has opened for the software world: the use of plain-language inputs. “Our thesis is that everything should be able to be done through natural language.
