the commercialization of its technology for converting waste carbon into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The funding round was oversubscribed, according to a company statement released Monday. The new capital will be used to expand operations and advance the next phase of technology scale-up, including the development of a second demonstration plant, OX2, which the company expects to be fully operational in 2026. This builds on the launch of its OX1 demonstration plant earlier in 2024 at London Oxford Airport. New investors in the round include Orlen VC, Safran Corporate Ventures, International Airlines Group (IAG), Hostplus, and TCVC. Existing investors such as Clean Energy Ventures, IP Group/Kiko Ventures, Aramco Ventures, and Eni Next also participated. OXCCU's process is centered on an iron-based catalyst that enables the direct synthesis of jet-fuel-range hydrocarbons from gaseous waste carbon in a single reaction.
