Infineon Cuts Revenue Outlook as Carmakers' Growth Slows [BNN Bloomberg (Canada)]

Revenue will be €15.1 billion ($16.2 billion) for the year that ends in September, plus or minus €400 million, the German chipmaker said in a statement on Tuesday. That compares to the €15.7 billion average estimate among analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. “Give or take half of the reduction is coming from automotive,” Chief Financial Officer Sven Schneider said in an interview on Bloomberg TV. “The other half is coming from a weak market environment.” The results are the latest indication semiconductor suppliers to the automotive industry have been hit by a slowdown in the market for electric vehicles.
