Infineon expects this to generate additional revenue of about €230 million in 2026. Specifically, the deal involves the non-optical automotive, industrial and medical sensor business of ams Osram. Through the acquisition, Infineon aims to strengthen its market position and expand its product range. This includes detectors for computer tomography, components for industrial automation and building technology, or high-precision sensors - for example, for chassis position measurement, hand contact detection on the steering wheel, angle and position detection in robotics or continuous glucose monitoring for diabetes patients. Production facilities are not affected by the deal; however, around 230 employees will transfer to Infineon, the company said. The sale is expected to be completed in the second quarter of the calendar year.
