IGR: An Undervalued Real Estate Fund That Can Help Shield You From Inflation Summary Real estate offers a way for investors to protect their wealth against inflation and generate an income at the same time. IGR is a very well-diversified closed-end fund that invests in real estate securities from around the world. The United States does account for the majority of its assets, but there are also several foreign companies well-represented here. The fund boasts a fairly solid distribution yield that gets some tax benefits. It is currently trading at a large discount to net asset value. One of the best asset classes for income-focused investors is real estate.
