Imperial Oil's ( IMO.TO IMO ) stock is “disconnected from its fundamentals,” according to an RBC Capital Markets analyst who downgraded shares of the Canadian energy giant on Monday. The Calgary-based integrated oil company has seen its stock price soar nearly 470 per cent over the past five years. In that time, shares of rivals Suncor Energy ( SU.TO SU ) and Canadian Natural Resources ( CNQ.TO CNQ ) have risen about 200 per cent, and 230 per cent, respectively. Toronto-listed Imperial shares fell about 1.68 per cent as at 11:10 a.m. ET Monday. In a note to clients, veteran RBC oil and gas analyst Greg Pardy praised Imperial's leadership, assets, and its diversified cash flow spanning refining and a chemicals businesses. At the same time, he says the company's valuation is “stretched,” after several years of brisk performance. “The relative outperformance and valuation of IMO's common shares appear to have disconnected from its fundamentals,” Pardy wrote. “We have downgraded
