Intel announced its $28 billion project in Licking County in 2022, originally slated to open in 2025, but was delayed twice. Workers are building two fabs that will be used for top-of-the line semiconductor manufacturing. According to Intel's 2025 review, workers from 83 of Ohio's 88 counties have contributed to the construction so far. Pickaway County village enacts pause on data centers Intel said workers have spent more than 9.4 million hours on the project, equivalent to more than 1,000 years of work put in by crews over the past three years. Intel said the company has poured enough concrete to fill more than 13 stadiums, and installed thousands of feet of underground piping and conduits.
