USA TODAY NETWORK - Florida Facing rising jet fuel prices and a possibly imminent liquidation , beleaguered Spirit Airlines may offer the Trump administration an equity stake in the company in exchange for hundreds of millions of dollars in emergency funding, Bloomberg reported April 20. The low-cost carrier is one of several set to meet with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to discuss spiking operating costs arising from the U.S.-Israel/Iran conflict. It wouldn't be the first time. In August, President Donald Trump announced his administration secured a 10% stake in Intel Corp . for $11.1 billion in funds and pledges.
