Jack in the Box shareholders have re-elected all 10 of the company's board nominees during its 2026 annual meeting, marking a significant victory for the San Diego-based quick-service company following a contentious proxy battle with activist investor Sardar Biglari. However, independent chair David Goebel — who has served as chairman of Jack in the Box's board since 2008 — will not seek re-election, and instead was succeeded by Mark King, who assumed the role at the end of February. “It is an honor to serve as chair of the board of Jack in the Box during this transformative time for the company,” King said in a statement. “Looking ahead, our board and leadership team are fully focused on improving our financial performance through the execution of our ‘Jack on Track' plan.
