Americans have spoken on what they believe is the best fast-food burger A newly released YouGov study surveyed Americans about their dining preferences, including where they turn for their favorite fast-food burger. The consensus? Five Guys Specializing in hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries, Five Guys is one of the pricier fast-food options. In 2025, Allrecipes ranked Five Guys as the No. 1 most expensive fast-food chain in the United States, followed by Jack in the Box, Shake Shack, Cava, and Chipotle. Despite the prices, Five Guys has a loyal customer base, indicative of the backlash the chain received after changing how it serves fries. In March, Five Guys announced it was ditching its traditional plastic fry cups for kraft paper bags because they're grease-resistant and BPA- and PFAS-free.
