As summer approaches and families plan long road trips, with more people spending more time on our streets, there are a handful of laws that aren't quite being obeyed. And they should be. Sure, we know you pay attention to traffic lights and pedestrian crossings, adhere to maximum speed limits, stop your car completely at stop signs, and wear your seat belt, but there are certain rules that drivers plonk in the grey area and well, kind of ignore. Here are three common violations of the law that cannot simply be dismissed as, “Sorry officer, I didn't know,” or “Hang on, everyone else is doing it.” Never leave kids in cars The first one is—never leave your babies or small children in your car on hot days, not even for five minutes. We realize you might be tempted to leave your kid in the car while you just pop into the drugstore or local butcher, especially as your precious little one is strapped into their child seat. But folks, that's against the law and you will get arrested.
