J.B. Hunt's stock rallies after earnings, revenue beat expectations Shares of J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. JBHT, +0.81% rallied 3.3% in premarket trade Monday, after the trucking company reported second-quarter earnings and revenue that beat expectations. Net income rose to $151.7 million, or $1.37 a share, from $97.9 million, or 88 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. The FactSet consensus for earnings per share was $1.28. The effective tax rate declined to 26.0% from 37.4%. Revenue increased 24% to $2.14 billion from $1.73 billion, above the FactSet consensus of $2.06 billion, as revenue from all business segments topped expectations. The stock has climbed 33% over the past 12 months through Friday, while the Dow Jones Transportation Average DJT, +0.55% has gained 8.3% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.38% has advanced 16%.
