Shares in Currys fell nearly 11% on the news that the Chinese e-commerce giant will not make an offer. There had been speculation of a potential bidding war for Currys after Elliott made two rebuffed approaches and JD.com said it was considering making an offer. Currys operates more than 800 stores across eight countries. Its attracted attention as its share price has been depressed in recent years as soaring inflation discouraged shoppers from buying expensive electrical items such as TVs and computers.
