Boeing's 737 Max could single-handedly hit US GDP if production is halted, JP Morgan says © Provided by CNBC LLC Michael Feroli, the bank's chief U.S. economist, said in a note to clits that annualized U.S. GDP could fall by 0.6 perctage points if production of the beleaguered airplane is halted temporarily. "This year sal of the 77 were projected to total about $ billion, with about 90% accounted for by the MAX model, or about one-quarter of total domtic aircraft production," Feroli said. Load Error Boeing is still building the 77 Max, but deliveri of the jet have be halted while U.S. officials conduct an invtigation into the aircraft's approval. Earlier this month, a 77 Max jet operated by Ethiopian Airlin crashed, marking the second disaster involving the plane in ls than six months. The plane was certified to fly by the Federal Aviation Administration. After the second crash, several airlin and countri grounded all flights that involve the plane.
