JPMorgan has also seen its intern applications soar amid red-hot competition. Goldman Sach's newest class of interns will hit the desk on June 10 for a summer of work at one of the world's most prestigious financial institutions. Though internship programs at the firm have always been competitive, this year marks a new level of selectivity. The investment-banking giant received a record 315,126 applications for its 2024 internship program and filled only 2,700 spots, according to stats provided by the firm. That's a hire rate of less than 1%. Harvard's acceptance rate , by contrast, is 3.6% Wall Street internships are a well-trodden path to a career as an investment banker or trader, and competition for these summer gigs has increased in recent years — especially at top firms like Goldman.
