L'Opep+, qui regroupe l'Organisation des pays exportateurs de pétrole et leurs alliés emmenés par la Russie, produit environ 40% du brut mondial. Les baisses de pompage font partie des options qui seront débattues dimanche, lors de la réunion ministérielle de l'organisation à 14h00 (12h00 GMT) à Vienne. Avant cela, les ministres se rencontreront samedi à 11h00. Ces réductions pourraient représenter 1 million de bpj. L'Opep+ a déjà annoncé début avril de nouvelles baisses de production pour un volume total d'environ 1,6 million de bpj qui s'ajoutent à une réduction de production de 2 millions de bpj décidée en octobre dernier pour la période de novembre 2022 à fin 2023. Si elle était approuvée, cette diminution supplémentaire porterait à 4,6 millions de bpj le volume total des baisses de production de l'Opep+, soit 4,5% de la demande mondiale. Les pays occidentaux accusent l'Opep+ de manipuler les cours du brut et de peser sur l'activité économique par des prix de l'énergie
