Six years after hanging his sneakers up for good, the retired forward is quietly becoming a multi-million dollar real estate mogul. According to Kurt Budenhausen of Forbes, Deng started planting the seeds as early as 2004. The former Duke Blue Devil was still a rookie at the time, playing for the Chicago Bulls , but that did not stop him from thinking about his future. Since then, Deng has generated an impressive portfolio of hotels, resorts, casinos, and apartment buildings, among others, which now amounts to a staggering $200 million. “If you know the market and you are using your leverage and doing the right deals, it is really nonstop with the opportunities,” he said Deng played 15 years in the NBA, with stops in Chicago, Cleveland, Miami, Los Angeles and Minnesota. He amassed a total career earnings north of $166 million, including that puzzling $72 million offer he got from the Lakers in 2016.
