The saga on Jeffrey Epstein continued with a new batch of documents released on Dec. 23, where President Donald Trump was mentioned repeatedly. The Justice Department preempted the drop with a statement saying the documents contained " untrue and sensationalist " accusations against Trump ahead of the 2020 elections. The president has not been charged with any crimes in relation to Epstein, a wealthy and well-connected financier who was indicted for sex trafficking girls. There are still hundreds of thousands of documents expected to come from the agency in the next several weeks after the Epstein Files Transparency Act compelled their release by Dec. 19.
