Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. shares rose 7.5% in the extended session Monday after the company beat consensus earnings estimates. The company reported first-quarter net income of $156 million, or 11 cents a share, compared with $230 million, or 16 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Adjusted for impairment on investment, among other things, earnings were 29 cents a share. Revenue grew to $2.61 billion from $2.5 billion in the year-ago period. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had estimated adjusted earnings of 27 cents a share on revenue of $2.55 billion. For the second quarter, analysts model earnings of 32 cents a share on sales of $2.86 billion. The company reiterated its outlook for 2020 and said it expects net sales growth in the range of 3% to 4%. Keurig Dr Pepper stock has fallen 9.4% in the past year, with the S&P 500 index falling 3.5%.
