The best babysitter Trish Garber ever had for her three boys was the golf course. Tad, Peter and Joey Garber all grew up through the game, particularly Joey, the youngest. “I dropped them off when I went to work and they had to survive out there on the range and playing,” Trish said. “It was great and great way for (Joey) to spend time with his brothers. It was a great way for them to spend their summers.” Joey began in the sport chasing his older brothers on course, just trying to keep up. “His brothers would be half a hole ahead and he'd be trying to chase them, bag hitting him in the butt and knocking him to the ground,” Trish said with a laugh, remembering back. Those were the moments that helped shape one of the greatest golfers to ever come out of northern Michigan. “I always looked up to my brothers and to have that level of competition before I got into high school golf, national stage amateur golf and college golf and beyond was so important,” Joey Garber said. “
