The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency submitted proposals on Thursday to the Office of Management and Budget for review, according to the ?website of the Office ?of Information and Regulatory Affairs, which is the part of OMB charged with reviewing rule ?proposals. The rule-writing effort has been closely watched by the banking industry, which intensely opposed an effort under the Biden administration ?to adopt ?rules that would have significantly ?raised big bank capital ?requirements. The new rules would implement global standards on how banks should measure their risk and assign capital accordingly. The submissions, which refer to rules on "Regulatory Capital and Standardized Approach for Risk-weighted Assets," do not include any details on the ?plans, nor timing.
