"Our Kinder Morgan forecast for overall gas -- U.S. gas demand now extends through 2031 and estimates demand in that year of 150 Bcf a day, a growth of about 27% from this year." The Monument acquisition expands KMI's Texas footprint for $500 million, features long-term contracts (average life about 9 years), high utility/industrial exposure, synergy with existing storage, and incremental expansion spend expected. Western Gateway faces JV negotiations and finalizing transport contracts before FID, while Northeast expansion is contingent on attaining state permits and sufficient commercial support, due to past capital write-offs.
