However, some indications of a cycle reversal reduced the company's margins for 1Q24, and spooked the markets, with the stock price falling 16% after the earnings release. A cycle-average profitability approach indicates that the stock is approaching more sensible valuations, but I believe the stock price should be lower before considering Koppers an opportunity.
