According to a recall notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration , the food manufacturer, Bakkavor, initiated the recall on Jan. 19, but it wasn't until March 23 that the FDA called it a Class II recall, which is designated for products that have “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” according to federal officials. Slow-roasted tomatoes that were used in the product were found to potentially contain metal fragments. Over 25,000 cases of the product were recalled, including some sold by HelloFresh, Trader Joe's, Harris Teeter, and Meijer. Here's everything shoppers need to know about the recall. What products are being recalled? According to the FDA , the recall covers pizza and focaccia bread products with use-by dates between April 27 and Oct. 15.
