for the first quarter even as retailers scaled back inventory on more conservative consumer spending. Shares were launched to a record high after the company raised its 2024 earnings guidance to align with Q1 profit and margin results. “We are pleased with another quarter of market share gains and the improvement we saw in POS and retailer inventories over the course of our first quarter,” CEO Scott Baxter said, adding, “As a result of our strong start to the year and increased visibility into gross margin expansion, we are raising our full year earnings outlook.” Kontoor Brands ( KTB ) now expects an adjusted profit of $4.70 to $4.80 per shares versus the earlier estimate of $4.65 to $4.75 per share, topping the Street's consensus of $4.71. First half EPS is now expected to increase by mid-single digits versus the prior outlook of flat.
