China’s environmental reforms are an opportunity for investors, Morgan Stanley says China is attempting to go green, and the country’s environmentally-friendly reforms could mean a way for investors to start seeing green in their holdings. Morgan Stanley’s sustainability team, which focuses on the intersection of investing and environmental movements, found reason for optimism that China, which is notorious for the pollution generated by its massive growth in recent decades, had finally turned a corner towards cleaner living. “Ambitious [electric vehicle] targets, supportive renewable energy regulation and widespread environmental inspections all point to a new degree of commitment by the Chinese government to reform the country’s environmental footprint,” the investment bank wrote in a research report. “Whilst there has been hope of such a strategy before, our analysts’ trips to the region over the past few months give us confidence that this time change is really happening.” There a
