(“LAIX” or the “Company”) (NYSE: LAIX), an artificial intelligence (AI) company in China that creates and delivers products and services to popularize English learning, today announced its unaudited financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019.Second Quarter 2019 Financial and Operating Highlights Net revenues were RMB276.4 million (US$40.3 million), a 104.0% increase from RMB135.5 million for the second quarter of 2018.Gross billings1 were RMB290.1 million (US$42.3 million), a 41.3% increase from RMB205.3 million for the second quarter of 2018.Gross margin was 76.5%, compared with 76.8% for the second quarter of 2018.Approximately 0.9 million unique paying users purchased the Company’s courses and services for the second quarter of 2019, compared with approximately 0.7 million unique paying users for the second quarter of 2018.Total cumulative registered users were 138.8 million as
