FDA Expands J&J's (JNJ) Carvykti Label in Multiple Myeloma [Yahoo! Finance]

The therapy has been developed in collaboration with Legend Biotech Corporation LEGN. Carvykti is now approved to treat adult patients with relapsed/refractory (r/r) MM who have received at least one prior line of therapy, including a proteasome inhibitor (PI) and an immunomodulatory agent (IMiD) and who are refractory to Bristol-Myers ' BMY Revlimid (lenalidomide). The label expansion was expected as an FDA advisory committee unanimously recommended Carvykti for the second-line treatment of adults with r/r MM last month. Both the recommendation and approval are based on survival and safety data from the late-stage CARTITUDE-4 study, which showed that the earlier use of Carvykti reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 59%, compared with the current standard of care treatments.
