The grants will support collaborations among the institutions and other church-related organizations for the preparation of ordained ministers and lay pastoral leaders. In total, 45 grants — ranging from $2.5 million to $10 million apiece — were announced as part of this latest round of Lilly's Endowment's Pathways for Tomorrow Initiative, aimed at boosting the educational and financial capacities of universities, seminaries and theological schools. Among the institutions receiving the maximum $10 million awards were Baylor University, Emory University, Concordia Seminary, Fuller Theological Seminary, Howard University, Loyola University (Chicago), Saint John's University, Wesley Biblical Seminary and the University of Notre Dame.
