So far, the coronavirus pandemic isn't hurting pharmaceutical companies , Edward Jones analyst Ashtyn Evans said in a report to clients. That held true for Eli Lilly on Thursday. Not only did the pharma company offer better-than-expected results, but both sales and earnings grew by double digits. "Spending on health care is necessary in good times and in bad, which we believe will allow for earnings of drug companies, such as Lilly, to hold up relatively well," she said. "We expect a slight negative impact driven by fewer diagnoses and doctor-administered drugs, and some delays in new clinical (test) starts." Evans kept her buy rating on LLY stock.
