Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame on Sunday, April 26, at Arrowhead Country Club in Glendale. He was inducted, along with four former high school coaches, as part of the 42nd Hall of Fame class at the annual induction banquet. The others were former Mesa Dobson swimming coach Jeff Anderson, former Thatcher football coach Don Conrad, former Pima wrestling coach Larry "Digger" O'Dell and former Bisbee cross-country coach Leonard Suarez. Woods, who is still leading the Huskies, was the first head baseball coach hired in 1998 when Hamilton opened. The Huskies have won nine state titles and finished runner-up three times. Woods has led the Huskies to 25 consecutive state tournaments, reaching the semifinals 16 times.
