Air Force Two, which get its callsign from ferrying the U.S. vice president, landed in East Tennessee on March 11 to refuel at the McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base Lt. Col. Travers Hurst with the base's 134th Refueling Wing told Knox News the aircraft spent about four hours in East Tennessee before taking off. He confirmed Vice President JD Vance was not aboard the plane and that the only occupants were the pilot and crew. The March 11 visit was Air Force Two's second Knoxville stop in recent months. When Vance landed at McGhee Tyson back in November to visit nearby Blackberry Farm , a motorcade was tasked with escorting him from the airport . During the drive, Maryville police officer Justin Brown crashed with a Tennessee state trooper and was hospitalized for his injuries Nonprofit organization Blue Line Tennessee presented Brown with a $21,500 check in January to support the officer and his family.
