The ACLU of Ohio and several Columbus-area law firms, organizations and individuals have filed a federal class action lawsuit against ICE, Customs and Border Patrol and Homeland Security. The lawsuit alleges that federal agents unlawfully arrested immigrants in Ohio without warrants and detained them without evaluating flight risk. The legal action seeks to stop what the ACLU calls "cruel and unlawful" immigration enforcement practices by ICE and other federal authorities. Several top Trump officials are also defendants. The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio and several law firms, organizations and individuals have filed a federal civil rights lawsuit in Columbus against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other government agencies, accusing them of "unlawful" immigration detention practices in Ohio.
