Texas-favorite gas station chain is taking an Ohio convenience chain to court, accusing it of using a mascot with similar name and a likeliness to its famed smiling beaver. The Lake Jackson company's legal team on Feb. 18 filed its lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Ohio against Coles IP Holdings, parent company of the Mickey Mart chain, whose mascot is a moose. MORE: Houston-area law firm to offer discounted Lyft rides from Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Mickey's logo features the smiling moose inside of a red hexagon, which Buc-ee's legal team argues is too similar to its own logo - a smiling beaver inside of a yellow circle. Buc-ee's is accusing Mickey's of trademark infringement, unfair competition and calls for a judge to cancel Coles IP Holdings' trademark registrations.
