After solid gains on Monday to start the week, stocks were little changed on Tuesday. The S&P 500 gained 0.13% while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.10%. Following an onslaught of earnings and economic data over the past two weeks, this week is something of a breather. There are plenty of earnings this week, but few household names with the weight to move the entire market. Case in point, Disney. The company reported earnings before the open on Tuesday that disappointed investors, sending the stock down 9.5%, yet broad indices were hardly affected. Last night, after the close, Reddit reported for the first time since going public. The company beat on revenues and reported a loss per share that was better than expected. Second quarter forward guidance also came in better than expected, sending the stock higher in after-hours trading by 14%.
