A 16-year-old Lil Wayne drops the phrase in "Tha Block is Hot," from his 1999 debut release – the same album on which the slang term "bling-bling" makes an appearance. Now a five-time Grammy Award winner, the artist also known as "Weezy" is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his seminal "Tha Carter" album series, which was born in 2004, by extending last year's Tha Carter VI North American tour into 2026. Featuring special guests 2 Chainz and The Game, Lil Wayne is adding on to his successful June-October 2025 run with a bevy of new stops as part of his Lil Wayne: 20 Years of Carter Classics tour The new leg of the Live-Nation promoted tour will kick off Tuesday, June 30, in Maine, then go on to make stops across the U.S. in Chicago, Denver, Nashville and more before concluding on Friday, Oct. 23, at Food City Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
