The 165-year-old retail icon has confirmed the closure of 14 additional locations this spring, a move that impacts communities across 12 different states. The announcement comes as part of a broader mandate issued by CEO Tony Spring to "reinvigorate relationships with customers" by stripping away underperforming assets. By the end of 2026, Macy's aims to have eliminated 150 stores — nearly a third of its fleet — to focus on a smaller, more profitable core of high-traffic locations.
