Related news Department store chain Macy's ( M ) is aiming to have its full fleet of stores reopened to the public in six weeks. Macy's stock slipped. If all goes to plan, the firm expects to have all of its roughly 775 stores reopened by mid-June. All Macy's stores have been shut since March 18. However this is a preliminary timeline, and depends on a decline in infection rates and approval from state and local governments. The program will begin on Monday, when it plans to reopen 68 department stores. This will take place in Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Oklahoma. To maintain safety, there shall be barriers erected at cash registers. In addition, most fitting rooms will be shut. Customers will also have to use hand sanitizer before trying on jewelry.
