Related news IBD Long-Term Leader stock Mastercard ( MA ) missed Q1 earnings forecasts early Wednesday as cross-border volumes slipped amid economic lockdowns, ahead of Visa's ( V ) fiscal Q2 results after the close Thursday. Estimates: Wall Street expected Mastercard earnings per share to slip 2% to $1.74, according to Zacks Investment Research. Revenue was seen ticking up 2% to $3.97 billion. Mastercard previously gave a revenue warning for the first quarter. Results: EPS of $1.68 on revenue of $4 billion. Gross dollar volume grew 8% on a local currency basis to $1.6 trillion. Switched transactions increased 13%, but cross-border volume was down 1% on a local currency basis. Stock : Shares were up 4% at 275.20 in premarket trading on stock market today , testing their 50 -day moving average, MarketSmith analysis shows .
