SummaryMastercard could see short-term downside as consumer spending dips in a recessionary environment.However, online sales remain strong and Mastercard has a strong foothold in this market.Notwithstanding some short-term downside, I take a long-term bullish view on this company.Back in August, I had made theargumentMAOf course, this had been before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the economy was in a significantly stronger position than it is now.
