to benefit from elevated spending and ongoing military action in Iran and neighboring states. As detailed in a recent PitchBook research report , private capital firms are largely exposed to national security supply chains via tier-3 and tier-4 suppliers to the large and publicly owned defense companies, known as ‘primes,' that include Boeing and RTX, formerly known as Raytheon. These companies are expected to see influxes of new orders due to the military's need for munition replenishment, expanded electronic warfare capabilities, and development of new missile systems. Beyond this, private investors have also built exposure to the space via VC-backed startups that are developing new weapons and defense capabilities. Aerospace and defense is not a major part of the private credit market.
