HOUSTON, June 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Moleculin Biotech, Inc., (NASDAQ:MBRX) ("Moleculin" or the "Company"), a clinical stage pharmaceutical company focused on the development of anti-cancer drug candidates, all of which are based on license agreements with The University of Texas System on behalf of the MD Anderson Cancer Center (“MD Anderson”), today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with institutional investors for a registered direct offering of securities with gross proceeds of approximately $2.3 million. The closing of the offering is expected to take place on or about June 22, 2018, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions. In connection with the offering, the Company will issue 1,092,636 registered shares of common stock at a purchase price of $2.105 per share.
