Adjusted earnings for the quarter of 64 cents per share surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 57 cents. The bottom line improved significantly from 22 cents per share in the prior-year quarter. Results benefited from a rise in revenues and other income. Also, the company had a solid liquidity position in the quarter. However, an increase in expenses was a headwind. Net income (GAAP basis) was $50.3 million compared with $16.6 million in the prior-year quarter. Total revenues (GAAP basis) for the quarter grew 41% year over year to $306.6 million. This was driven by a rise in M&A and capital markets revenues. Moreover, the top line surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $289.8 million.
