Getty Royalty Free This past Tuesday, September 18 th , 2018, McDonald’s employees in 10 different cities staged a walk-out to raise awareness for sexual misconduct at the company. Sexual misconduct claims were filed in May against 10 different McDonald’s employees and 27 different women alleged they were victims of sexual harassment at the company. Several employees who had filed sexual harassment claims have insisted that their claims were ignored and that they experienced backlash and retaliation after filing the claims. Employees part of the strike are urging McDonald’s to create a group, made up of employees, that will address issues of sexual misconduct at the company. McDonald’s put out a statement in response to the strike, indicating that they have policies, procedures, and training that deters sexual harassment at the company.
